A lot has changed since we first started reviewing where to buy Save the Dates in 2009. But our top choice has always been the same — Wedding Paper Divas. Back then and today they offered the best combination of overall value and quality for Save the Date cards. They are now owned by Shutterfly but they are still unique in that they work exclusively with many top designers to develop beautiful Save the date designs for every taste and occasion. The parent company Tiny Prints makes greeting cards, holiday cards and other paper goods and was recently purchased by Shutterfly.

Although, in the past 3 years since we first endorsed them they have added a ton of new products and designs. For many years they focused only on Save the Date cards. But in recent years they have expanded and now offer Save the Date Magnets and also Save the Date Postcards. In addition, they have the largest selection of Save the Dates online.

If you have a particular fancy for your wedding Save the Dates you may just find it at Wedding Paper Divas. They have circle shaped cards, venue based Save the Dates (e.g. tropical beach wedding, New York venue, Napa wine country wedding). The quality of the designs and the paper and envelopes is fantastic and sure to impress your friends and family to make a great impression. You really can’t go wrong in choosing their cards to let your friends and family know about your wedding date.

Their products are more expensive than others but I think the quality is worth the premium price.

Minted has an extensive Save the Dates selection with over 84 designs. The cards feature beautiful photos and imagery and you can personalize many of the cards to suit your style and occasion. I also dig that they focus on customer satisfaction and back it up with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. The company tag line is that you’ll always find the freshest designs on paper. Indeed!

Below are some of our favorite Save the Dates from Minted.

Minted was recently featured on the Early Show on CBS. It was a great segment and the host Harry Smith had fantastic things to say about Minted.com cards and the quality of the paper.

Paper Culture

Paper Culture is a fairly new entrant to the online stationary and invitations space. I first became aware of them when we received some holiday cards last year. They have made quite a splash in Save the Dates. Until recently they only sold baby announcements, baby shower invitations, and birthday invites. I’ve been eagerly awaiting their Save the Dates and am happy to announce they are finally here. I think they were well worth the wait as they have over 100 designs that are absolutely fabulous! I can’t wait to see what else they come up with.

Paper Culture offers very high quality paper as they use 130 lb. weight paper for their cards. And they have nice extra touches like rounded corners. These small details can definitely make a difference on the impression your Save the Dates will make. Paper Culture also offers a mail & message service where they will print, address (both return and recipient), stamp and finally mail your cards on your behalf. The great thing is they do all of this for just the cost of the stamp. They have a great comparison grid to show they compare to other companies. Here are a few of my favorite Save the Date designs from Paper Culture.

The pricing is also very straightforward. All cards are priced the same no matter what the design. Cost varies only by the number of cards you order.

Cards 1-20: $2.29 each (i.e. the first 20 cards are always $2.29 no matter how many you order)
Cards 21-60: $1.95 each (i.e. the next 40 cards are always $1.95)
Cards 61-99: $1.72 each (i.e. the next 39 cards are always $1.72)
Cards 100+: $1.49 each (i.e. if you order 150 cards, cards #100-150 are $1.49 each)

Paper Culture also prides itself on being eco-friendly and green. All cards are printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper and all packaging and envelopes are recycled. So you can get eco Save the Dates. In fact the company is actually carbon neutral! As a side note they are based in wonderful city of Burlingame in the San Francisco Peninsula.

VistaPrint Wedding

VistaPrint is one of the largest online custom print shops. They offer both business and consumer products. On the consumer side they offer custom photo magnets, greeting cards, save the date wedding invitations, labels, photo cards, custom mugs, and more. And if you are business they also make business cards, labels, rubber stamps, letterhead, and stationary.

If you are looking to save money, VistaPrint has some REALLY CHEAP Save the Date cards. In this economy this is key! They have honestly the lowest prices for Save the Dates we have seen. In fact, currently they are running a special for 10 Save the Dates for just $1.99 which works out to only 19 cents per card! The standard price is $7.99 so you are saving 75% off the normal price. You can add matching envelopes for just $3.99 which results in cards plus envelopes for 59 cents per card. I don’t know how long this will last, but I challenge anyone to find good quality Save the Date cards for less. And even at $7.99 or 79 cents per card it works out to quite inexpensive Save the Dates relative to most vendors. And so you can really Save Money on your Save the Dates! Ha ha. In this economy this is a great value to help save money.

Wedding Paper Divas is the leading premium online wedding invitations store and our favorite place for Save the Dates. They are part of Tiny Prints the company that offers custom designed holiday cards, photo cards, and baby announcements for all kinds of family occasions.

In addition to Save the Date cards they also now feature Save the Date postcards and Save the Date magnets. The great thing is they have taken some of the best designs from the cards and translated them to magnets and postcards.

The company partners with well known and up and coming wedding invitation designers from across the country. Many of its Save the Date cards are exclusive designs not available anywhere else. While they offer Save the Dates they also have wedding invitations, bridal shower invitations and thank you cards.

Wedding Paper Divas offers Save the Date Photo Cards, Save the Date Magnets, and Save the Date Postcards. The overall quality of the wedding Save the Dates from Wedding Paper Divas is top notch. The company uses the latest digital printing technology which ensures high gloss photos and the perfect cards. They are also known for being able to process and deliver cards quickly in case you don’t have a lot of time. However, quality comes at a price and Wedding Paper Diva’s Save the Date cards are premium priced at typically between $1.25 to $3.00 per card. Some designs with letterpress or higher weight paper can easily be over $3.00 per card. Although you do receive discounted pricing with higher order quantities. Overall, from a price vs. quality stand point we still think Wedding Paper Divas offers the best value in terms of Save the Date cards.

Another positive is the high degree of personalization allowed. For most designs, you can choose different fonts, font colors, customize messages, and even edit photos to include sepia highlights or convert color photos to black and white. This really let’s you make custom cards. Wedding Paper Divas offers both traditional Save the Date Cards as well as Photo Save the Dates.

One unique service Wedding Paper Divas offers is complimentary photo touch ups on every card. Their in-house designers can brighten or sharpen images and even remove red eye. They will of course contact you to discuss any changes before they are made. I know they can even “hide” small blemishes like acne or a unsightly pimple.
