Sarah and Carolyn are the two childhood friends behind Baumbirdy. They are both professional art directors with a keen eye for cleverly made and designed wedding invitations and other paper goods. You can learn more about them and their designs at the Baumbirdy Blog.
Baumbirdy has some great designs. Two of my favorite Baumbirdy Save the Date magnets are listed below.

The first Save the Date magnet above is called Clean Style. Just pick a great photo from your engagement photos and this magnet puts the focus on you and your soon to be groom. The lettering is still elegant and simple in its detail with the white handwriting cursive style.

The magnet above is called Antique Airmail. It is a Save the Date that takes the look of a vintage airmail postcard. In a cute design it takes the postmark stamp and turns that into the date of your wedding. And you can include a few photos that are made to look like stamps in the postcard. It’s a wonderful design. I heart Baumbirdy! They are just starting out so hopefully they will add new Save the Date designs soon.

Paper Culture has really been raising the bar in terms of new and creative Save the Date card designs. I decided to feature some of their top selling designs below. The first one on the left is called engagement ring which I think is pretty self explanatory. After all the ring is the symbol of your commitment to each other. The Save the Date card on the right is called Fabric Birds and is my favorite design at the moment. If you did not know I really love the bird motif.
Below on the left is a Save the Date postcard. It’s not actually a postcard as you still mail it in an envelope. But I like the concept for a wedding Save the Date. And on the left is the current top seller for Paper Culture Save the Dates that is called Save the Date banner. It is a simple design with a banner on the left where you can put your names and the wedding information.
If you like any of these designs you can check out the complete Save the Date collection as well. Or just click any of the images of the cards featured above.

Paper Culture has some brand new Save the Date designs that I wanted to share for your wedding stationary consideration. When they first started they had a pretty limited selection but they have been adding cards and now they have 43 total Save the Date card designs. Compare this with Wedding Paper Divas that has a huge selection of almost 1,000 Save the Date cards. I still wish Paper Culture would offer Save the Date postcards. Two of my picks from their newly added set of designs are shown below.
There’s a certain romance about carving your names into a piece of wood – that’s the inspiration for these fun, save the date cards. The set of fonts create a modern, yet distinctly fun feel for the save the dates. And since we are a paper company, we know the importance of trees. That’s why no new trees will be cut down to make these cards since they are printed on luxe, 100% post consumer recycled paper and we’ll even plant a tree in your honor with every order.
The card on the left is a tree carving Save the Date by the designer Sara Kim. While these are not actual “wood” cards they are on paper from trees. I’ve always liked the idea of carving names into a piece of wood. It makes me think of those years ago when I was a teenager. You can even choose from two types of wood grain. I especially “heart” the heart and arrow carving. Perfect for your wedding Save the Date card.
The card on the left is called Saying I Do by Paper Culture. You did say “I do” when he asked right? This card captures the bliss of that moment with a simple and chic happy face with hearts for the eyes. Two hearts have come together and it creates such happiness. The example above is shown in a beautiful shade of purple but if you prefer another color you can choose from strawberry, apricot, blue, and ivy colors. If these don’t suit your fancy you can also see Paper Culture’s complete collection of Save The Date Cards.
Also, remember that with Paper Culture they do not cut down any new trees for your cards since they are printed on 100% recycled paper. If that is not enough they also will plant a tree in your honor with each and every Save the Date card order. You can learn more about Paper Culture and how it compares to Wedding Paper Divas and Shutterfly on their Save the Date card comparison page.

Smudge Ink is a new designer for Wedding Paper Divas. The company is based in Boston and was founded by Kate Saliba and Deb Bastien. They got their start in the letterpress studio business doing greeting cards and custom wedding invitations. Now they have expanded into shopping bags, desk accessories, and more. Their style can best be described as bold and colorful.
Two great designs are Artistic Orchids (on the left) and Charming Transport (on the right).
Ocean of Love
This Save the Date card by Smudge Ink has majestic ocean in a brilliant blue. If you are getting married by the ocean or sea this could be a good choice for your Save the Date. The lines of the ocean are bold and powerful yet also calming and soothing. I do love weddings by the ocean. Let your guests know what they are in store for with you upcoming wedding and make sure they save the date.

We have featured Lady Jae in the past. The woman behind the company is Lisa Levy who has always had a life long dream to make beautiful things. Her background is in corporate web design working for such brands as International Business Machines, Kodak, Merrill Lynch, General Electric and more. Unfortunately, she found corporate design too structured and limiting. She longed to draw outside of the lines and that led her to the creation of Lady Jae Designs in 2005. We are so glad she made the leap!
Floral Tapestry
This Save the Date is printed on the Signature Ecru paper which has a really nice quality and feel. The colors are just exquisite with a floral pattern that I find so beautiful. It’s almost like I am looking at an exquisite oil painting and not a Save the Date card. There is a nice touch with the shadow of additional flowers off to the left on the bottom. And a bold brown banner declares “Save the Date” with your details below it.

Floral Watercolor
Lady Jae definitely likes floral arrangements on her Save the Dates. If you want a flower Save the Date card that has more of a watercolor feel instead of the oil based painting feel of Floral Tapestry this could be an excellent choice. This one has a light and airy feel with beautiful silhouettes of flowers drawn along the bottom of the card in purple, yellow, and orange pastel colors. Your name and your future husband’s name are written in a bold Purple font. It’s a really cute Save the Date card.

Magnolia Press is one of my favorite designers on Wedding Paper Divas. We have reviewed their Save the Date cards in the past here. They have a fresh and modern design element in all of their Save the Dates.
I have many favorites from Magnolia Press but two that I favor are Effortless Elegance and and Striped Overlay Save the Date cards. Effortless Elegance is just a simple white block with your favorite engagement photo. The fonts are clean and bright and if you choose a more vintage sepia look for your photos like the example below it is just a magical Save the Dates card. You can’t go wrong with this card choice for your wedding.
The card on the right called Striped Overlay Save the Date is a bit more modern with striped lines of varying widths. The example picture is with black which creates a very modern look but you can customize this card and choose other colors as well. If you are looking for a more current Save the Date card this could be it.

Good on Paper is a local design shop based in Berkeley, California. The designer Lisa Wong Jackson has a great sense of style and her Save the Date postcards reflect a simple, California aesthetic. She draws inspiration from life around her including natural elements, organic shapes, and every day simple lines. In addition to partnering with Wedding Paper Divas on stationary she also has a collection of home products and baby products. Her items are also available in retails stores including Anthropologie. It’s definitely all good in my book!
Cloud Frame
This is a simple Save the Date where the photo is the focus. It’s rounded out by a cloud in the center with important Save the Date info. What is great about Wedding Paper Divas Save the Date postcards is that you can have a special message to your guests printed on the other side. The cloud comes in different colors including aqua, blue, and purple. I really like the little dots that border the cloud. This Save the Date design works well with a muted color photo and particularly works well with black and white photos.

Timber Tag
Good on Paper loves to combine nature into its designs. This Timber Tag Save the Date postcard is no exception with a wood grain element paired with a simple white background. I like the choice of “green” font to go with the nature wedding marriage theme. You can choose different colors for the wood including khaki, grey, and brown. This Save the Date postcard can be paired with a sepia photo to give it a antique wedding celebration feel as you can see in the example below.

Paper Culture is a great place to buy Save the Date cards. While they feature some great designers like Andrea Stadelman they also have a house label of Save the Dates. I find their designs to be simple and modern. In particular, they have some great photo Save the Dates that I like.
Less is More
This Save the Date photo card is a great original design from Paper Culture. It is available in red, purple, and brown font. I really like that the photo is the center piece of the card & the information about the wedding nuptials is off to the side. So the focus is really on you & your fiancé. I really do like this engagement photo. It’s so nice to see the eye contact & I adore pattern of the brick wall behind them.

Engaged
This Save the Date card is another house design from Paper Culture. As I said they really have a focus on simplicity that takes on a modern style. The letters of “engaged” are interlocked together just like the act of marriage which is oh such sweet and subtle symbolism. This Save the Date comes in purple, pink, grey, and green. I personally think green is best but you should choose what matches your wedding colors.

We have featured Good on Paper in the past and they just came out with some new designs that we really love and we had to promote. The firm is run by Lisa Wong Jackson a San Francisco based designer who also happens to be a new mom! Congrats to Lisa and her husband Nick.
Falling Petals
This Save the Date photo card is a great design from Good on Paper. It comes in black, brown, or a fuschia color. I really like the contrast of the white petals with the black background and the fonts really complement the overall design of this Save the Date.

Vintage Royalty
This Save the Date photo card has a beautiful elegance to it. I really like the gold and pink color combination and the ring in the center is just adorable. Choose a bright and cheery photo and you will have a unique Save the Date card.

Stacy Amoo-Mensah is the designer behind Le Papier Boutique. In business since May 2005 when she debuted her line at the National Stationery show Stacy expresses hersel in modern, fresh, and unique designs. She started off designing wedding invitations and Save the Date cards for friends and family and soon the demand for her work grew to big to do part time. If you like her stuff you can follow her on Twitter at designfiles. In addition to her stationary line, Stacy sells wall art, growth charts, and coasters at her site called Name Your Design.
Fall Branch
This is one of those gorgeous Save the Dates that really just stands out. If you are having a fall wedding this could be perfect. Even if not I just love the fall foliage theme. I especially like the small leaves that are flying off on the end. And the crisp white of the rest of the card makes for a beautiful card to send to friends and family to Save the Date for your special wedding day.

Based in San Francisco, Andrea Stadelman is a graphic designer with experience at companies including Banana Republic and Williams Sonoma. She received her training from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. As a freelancer she also designs greeting cards and Save the Dates for Paper Culture. You can see her Andrea’s complete portfolio of card designs.
Photo Strip Memories
If I had to choose one theme that I always like for Save the Date cards it would have to be photo booth Save the Dates. This one is no exception. It has a slightly off center aligned strip of photo proofs that let’s you pick 3 favorite photos. It has an old time charm that I really like. To go with the theme of the Save the Date design it’s probably best to choose black and white photos.

Postcard Inspirations
Postcards are really a lost art in my mind. But you can bring it back with this Save the Date card that relives an old stamp and postmarked postcard. All you have to do is select one photo of you and your future hubby maybe from a recent trip. It’s easy to just pick one photo for your Save the Date right?
