Sarah and Carolyn are the two childhood friends behind Baumbirdy. They are both professional art directors with a keen eye for cleverly made and designed wedding invitations and other paper goods. You can learn more about them and their designs at the Baumbirdy Blog.

Baumbirdy has some great designs. Two of my favorite Baumbirdy Save the Date magnets are listed below.

The first Save the Date magnet above is called Clean Style. Just pick a great photo from your engagement photos and this magnet puts the focus on you and your soon to be groom. The lettering is still elegant and simple in its detail with the white handwriting cursive style.

The magnet above is called Antique Airmail. It is a Save the Date that takes the look of a vintage airmail postcard. In a cute design it takes the postmark stamp and turns that into the date of your wedding. And you can include a few photos that are made to look like stamps in the postcard. It’s a wonderful design. I heart Baumbirdy!They are just starting out so hopefully they will add new Save the Date designs soon.

More Save the Date Magnets by Petite Alma

Petite Alma Save the Dates are so great I had to feature her Save the Date magnets again. Kirby Alma is the designer behind Petite Alma. She has a wonderful flair for simple style that is combined with a Parisian influence she honed while working in Paris.

Two of my favorites are listed below. The first Save the Date magnet on the left is called Beach Flowers and it features a beautiful aqua blue orchid flower. This is perfect for a tropical or beach themed wedding. I really like the aqua blue cursive of your and your fiance’s names.

The card on the right is called Stylish Script and is just has in simple script “Save the Date” in black calligraphy writing. If you want a simple magnet to just announce your wedding nuptials this is a good choice.

The photo Save the Date magnet on the upper right is called sophisticated hand. You just choose a favorite engagement photo and it looks fabulous with the white script and banner with your wedding information. If you prefer a non photo Save the Date the option on the right is called Cupids Mark. It has a cute drawing of a heart with an arrow through it. So adorable!

Chinese Save the Date Cards

Are you having a traditional Chinese wedding and banquet? Have you been searching far and wide for a Save the Date that reflects the color red and has beautiful chinese lanterns or chinese double happiness symbols? Did you know that the sign for double happiness celebrates the union of a husband and wife and their two families? I know I’m not an expert on Chinese calligraphy but I’ve always thought that the characters for double happiness actually look like a couple standing together.

I have gotten a number of requests from asian brides or grooms looking for Asian or Chinese Save the Dates. Luckily I have done a lot of the homework for you. Below are what I was able to find from some of the top wedding card designers. Maybe one will be perfect for your Chinese Wedding and Chinese Banquet!

Double Happiness
This Save the Date design by Paper Culture puts the focus on your personalized picture. But at the bottom there is a double happiness symbol and information on your upcoming wedding. Perfect to announce for a Chinese Banquet wedding.

Oriental Elegance
This is a very simple and traditional Chinese Save the Date card. It features a cream colored card with a red double happiness symbol at the top. The information on your wedding date and venue are printed in a matching red cursive font.

Graceful Bamboo
This Save the Date Card from Wedding Paper Divas has a beautiful deep red color. The double happiness symbol is up on the upper left and there is a beautiful bamboo stalk on the side. This is probably my favorite for a Chinese Save the Date card.

Sweet Lanterns
This Chinese Save the Date card from Good on Paper is a more modern take as it does not feature the color red. Instead there is a pretty melon color. I really adore the Chinese lanterns and the little bird cages. And the two little birds over on the bottom right are a wonderful touch.

Smudge Ink Save the Date Cards

Smudge Ink is a new designer for Wedding Paper Divas. The company is based in Boston and was founded by Kate Saliba and Deb Bastien. They got their start in the letterpress studio business doing greeting cards and custom wedding invitations. Now they have expanded into shopping bags, desk accessories, and more. Their style can best be described as bold and colorful.

Two great designs are Artistic Orchids (on the left) and Charming Transport (on the right).

Ocean of Love
This Save the Date card by Smudge Ink has majestic ocean in a brilliant blue. If you are getting married by the ocean or sea this could be a good choice for your Save the Date. The lines of the ocean are bold and powerful yet also calming and soothing. I do love weddings by the ocean. Let your guests know what they are in store for with you upcoming wedding and make sure they save the date.

In addition to Save the Date cards they also now feature Save the Date postcards and Save the Date magnets. The great thing is they have taken some of the best designs from the cards and translated them to magnets and postcards.

The company partners with well known and up and coming wedding invitation designers from across the country. Many of its Save the Date cards are exclusive designs not available anywhere else. While they offer Save the Dates they also have wedding invitations, bridal shower invitations and thank you cards.

Wedding Paper Divas offers Save the Date Photo Cards, Save the Date Magnets, and Save the Date Postcards. The overall quality of the wedding Save the Dates from Wedding Paper Divas is top notch. The company uses the latest digital printing technology which ensures high gloss photos and the perfect cards. They are also known for being able to process and deliver cards quickly in case you don’t have a lot of time. However, quality comes at a price and Wedding Paper Diva’s Save the Date cards are premium priced at typically between $1.25 to $3.00 per card. Some designs with letterpress or higher weight paper can easily be over $3.00 per card. Although you do receive discounted pricing with higher order quantities. Overall, from a price vs. quality stand point we still think Wedding Paper Divas offers the best value in terms of Save the Date cards.

Another positive is the high degree of personalization allowed. For most designs, you can choose different fonts, font colors, customize messages, and even edit photos to include sepia highlights or convert color photos to black and white. This really let’s you make custom cards. Wedding Paper Divas offers both traditional Save the Date Cards as well as Photo Save the Dates.

One unique service Wedding Paper Divas offers is complimentary photo touch ups on every card. Their in-house designers can brighten or sharpen images and even remove red eye. They will of course contact you to discuss any changes before they are made. I know they can even “hide” small blemishes like acne or a unsightly pimple.

One of our favorite designers is Turquoise Creative that creates the Happy Branch Save the Date photo card. The designs are stunning with beautiful pastel colors and clean lines and simple fonts. Many of the designs offer the ability to add a custom photo that is printed as part of the card. And of course you can customize the content including the message and the date and venue of your wedding. Save the Date Postcards by Magnolia Press

Magnolia Press is one of the top Save the Date card designers for Wedding Paper Divas. We have reviewed their Save the Date cards in the past here. I don’t know much about the company but I do know that they have some of the most amazing Save the Date postcards. The designs are truly spectacular taking all of the wonderful Save the Date card designs and translating them to the Save the Dates postcard medium.

My two absolute favorite Save the Dates designs from Magnolia Press are the Romantic Tab Postcard and the Stunning Ring Postcard. The silver colors and clean lines of the Romantic Tab postcard allow you to select up to four engagement photos to share with family and loved ones. The Stunning Ring is a really innovative design that puts your photo in the center of an engagement ring! How adorable is that? So adorable!

Below on the left, I also like the String Bow postcard design for a Save the Date postcard. It’s simple with just one photo that has a you guessed it string and bow running across the bottom. After all you are about to tie the knot and get married so why not let folks know in your Save the Dates. The banner across the bottom can include your names, date of the wedding, wedding venue, and more.

The card above on the right in bright red is called Heartfelt Handbill and it really jumps out at you with the rich, vibrant color of love! It reminds me of an old time movie poster and the small heart at the bottom near the wedding Save the Date is perfection defined.

Sarah Hawkins Designs started out with Sarah just designing wedding invitations for her family and friends. Eventually, the demand for her designs grew and her part-time hobby became a full-time career. First, designing wedding invitations and birth announcements for local brides and new parents, then growing the business by selling baby announcements online. Sarah lives in Pittsburgh and has done work for such clients as Tiffany & Co., Heinz, and PPG. Sarah’s stationery designs have been used by many celebrities and featured in many magazines.

Love Stamp
This Save the Date card takes the classic US postal mail theme and turns it into what I consider one of the most memorable Save the Dates available. The eco-friendly italian made paper acentuates the design and a rich red coloring highlights you and your fiancés names.

Floral Flurry
The Floral Flurry wedding Save the Date card is a contemporary design with beautiful magenta flowers on a green background. If you want a Save the Date that will stand out this could be the one.

Reef Romance
The Reef Romance wedding Save the Date card is playful design that features a school of fish in aquamarine turquoise. The fish are contrasted with a white background which I adore. If you prefer the card also comes with green or orange fish.

Kelle Boyd of Ann Kelle Designs has always had a love of art and drawing. At age 9 she was a self confessed “fashionista” designing her own line of kid’s clothes and dresses. In 2006 she finally made the leap from a career in public policy to full time designer. She describes her style as “simple, sweet, and sassy.” She is inspired by simple things in life like ties, spring flowers, ice cream, and even the sweater vest she wore in the grade school.

Smiling Squares
If you want a photo Save the Date card that really lets your pictures shine this could be the one! I like the teal and gray boxes that flank the pictures. It’s also printed on Italian made eco-friendly paper.
